Foreign Worker Stabbed in Bukharan Neighborhood

"A foreign worker who was dripping blood from a stab wound, came today (Monday) to the Terem Emergency Centre next to the Bukharan neighborhood [1] in Jerusalem.

This incident is referring to a stabbing that occurred in the middle of a Haredi neighbourhood where there is an apartment which houses foreign workers mainly from the Philippines. Apparently the suspect is one of the other foreign workers in the apartment.

Neighbours in the building where the stabbing took place told Kikar HaShabbat, ‘We heard screaming coming from the direction of the apartment but we didn’t know what was happening there’

A police spokeswoman (Jerusalem) said: ‘Not long ago a report was received by the police about a woman who arrived at the Terem centre in Jerusalem with a stab wound on her body. Medical officials determined her condition as moderate'.

Police investigators were sent to the scene, and at the same time an investigation was opened in order to try and locate and arrest the suspect. It was told to Kikar HaShabbat that also the Haredi neighbours will be called in to testify."

[1] The Bukharan neighborhood is located in the center of Jerusalem and was built in 1894 by the Jews of Bukhara. Throughout the years the neighborhood has become somehwat abandoned. and is populated by Haredi residents.
