Leading Rabbis Initiate Prayer Rally At Western Wall To Stop Pandemic

"Initiative on behalf of the Rabbis and the Ministers: a Prayer to Stop the Epidemic

The Chief Rabbis of Israel, Rabbi David Lau – President of the Great Court [1], and Rishon LeZion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef – President of the Rabbinical Council [2], will hold today (Tuesday), on the eve of the new Hebrew month Av, a prayer rally in the streets of the Western Wall Plaza.

The prayer rally will be attended by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaakov Avitan.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs stated that in accordance with the guidelines from the Ministry of Health, the prayer will be held in the presence of only a few people, and said that it will be broadcast live to various centers around the country and the world.

The Chief Rabbi said, ‘We call on the public to watch the prayer through the Western Wall camera, every man and the rest of the members of their family.’
