Reconciliation Meeting Between 13 Year Old Girl and Policemen

"Has the family been calmed? The girl that cried in front of two policemen was invited to a reconciliation discussion and meeting with the police.

The officer of 'Lev HaBira' police station and the Chief Rabbi of the Police, met with the 13 year old girl Batya Geter [1]- the girl who broke down crying in front of two policemen.
• ‘We want you to know that the policemen are good people’
• After which the Officer of the police station organised and accompanied Batya and her family on a tour of the police station and a meeting with a policewoman.

Instead of suing the police, on Monday afternoon the officer of the 'Lev HaBira' police station, Shimi Marciano, and the Chief of Police, Commander Rami Barkiahu, met with the 13 year old who was filmed bursting out crying in front of two policemen who tried to give her a fine for not wearing her mask.

The young girl was accompanied by her parents and other family members.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chief Marciano said, ‘We are glad that you came today. Our goal is to give you a corrective experience of the police. The police have many roles, mainly to protect the safety of the public, and in the recent period also to protect the health of the public and prevent the spread of the disease and following to ensure the public are wearing their masks.’

‘I want you to know that the police are good people who try and look after the public, I hope that you leave today smiling and in good spirits.’

Commander Barkiahu: ′I want you to know that the police do ‘holy work’ and our aim is to protect the health of everyone. It is important to us that you know that the police intend only to do good.’

The father of the young girl, Yehoshua Geter said, ‘The message from the incident should be one of sanctifying God’s name and unity of the Jewish people. I want us to unite, reconcile and continue onwards.’

Afterwards the Officer of the Police Station organised and accompanied Batya and her family on a tour of the police station and a meeting with a Policewoman."
