[1] Five years ago, Moshe Lion was supported in the Jerusalem municipal elections by Avigdor Lieberman and Aryeh Deri, two politicians that faced charges of corruption (Deri was found guilty once, and incarcerated). For many Jerusalemites, this marked Lion as corrupt too, and this suspicion has followed through the recent municipal elections.
[2] The Likud are a right-wing national party, led by Binyamin Netanyahu.
