Depriving Teachers of their Rights
“Very very important. How long will the persecution and abuse of teachers and the deprivation of their rights continue? And where are those responsible for this violence? Teachers in schools and kindergartens (under the so-called private sector that belongs to the municipality) is deprived of teacher rights, from salary and pension, to sick leave, and mid-term and end-of-semester vacations. Teachers are denied maternity leave because she has an identity card (of the West Bank) and all of this is recorded and deducted from the amount of the salary agreed upon with the principal. Teachers in these institutions are victims of the management's and officials’ greed. In my opinion, I see this as a clear crime and everyone ignores teachers' pain. Stop killing teachers' creativity and enough with the pressures that are being exerted upon us. I urge the officials and management of these schools to investigate this issue. We want our rights, we want our salaries and we are tired of being robbed and cheated.

[Selected comments:]
– "All my respect to what you’re saying. What’s happening is indeed thievery on the part of the principals against the teachers. We need to unite together against these kinds of schools. Enough of robbing teachers’ rights. May God remove these kinds of greedy principals and may God help us."
– "Where are the comments. Everyone is silent because it is an issue of oppressed people. Where are the comments."
– "[selected excerpt] If teachers refused to work in such conditions, then schools would give them their rights …”
– “Schools that do not fear God. It is the Ministry [of Education] and the Municipality’s fault."
