"The great victory of the Jewish people in one image: Brandenburg Gate, then and today. Happy Hanukkah!"
– Jerusalemites FB Group
[Selected Comments:]
– "…They butchered six million of us and then we put up a Menorah in their city – what a great victory."
– [In response:] "Your continued existence in spite of their attempt to annihilate you is the victory. Got eat a sufganiyah [traditional Hannukah donut]. Maybe that’ll calm you down."
– "If we haven’t learned our lesson yet, and we still live there [1] – it seems like we’ve lost. We all have to understand that Jews need to be in Israel, and not anywhere else."
**
"I called Roladin [2] and asked how much a sufganiyah costs. They said that they don’t quote their prices over the phone and that I can go to their nearest branch, get a quote and hear about payment plans."
– Jerusalemites FB Group
[Selected Comments:]
– "Lol!"
– "They asked me to bring along two co-signers and a mortgage form."
– "If I’m not mistaken, it’s 13 shekels for a single sufganiyah, and if your buying for family and guests, take a mortgage."
– "Best joke I’ve read about Roladin! (There are a lot floating around.)"
– "Once a year, you buy a tasty, high-quality sufganiyah that leaves you wanting more. Why are you making such a fuss about the price? There’s no place like Roladin."

[1] The writer is referring to the large community of Israelis that have chosen to live in Germany, and especially in Berlin.
[2] Roladin is a bakery chain. Every year, they make a selection of boutique Sufganiyot, a donut traditionally eaten during Hanukkah. Their Sufganiyot prices are significantly higher than those of more traditional bakeries.
