“Let’s abolish racism from Zion Square!

For years, I have been exerting pressure on law enforcement agencies, sometimes successfully, sometimes less so, to ensure that the blatant and shameful racism of Lahava[1] will not find a place in our country.
In the past, I succeeded in getting rid of the Lahava stands that were placed without a permit, working in places that are prohibited and forbidden; stands that spread hatred among young people and passers-by, and exploiting all their frustration and anger against anyone who is easy-prey to incite against them.

Last week I again detailed the offenses to the municipal supervision and received backing from business-licensing office which confirmed too that these Lehava stands were illegal. I will continue to work in every way and in cooperation with all the people who are fighting against racism. Violence and incitement to violence must be opposed to, and foremostly – racism, which is one of the sources of both.”

[1] Lehava, meaning ember or flame in Hebrew, is a far-right Jewish organization opposed to the assimilation of Jews particularly the marginal phenomenon of Jewish girls marrying into Arab families.The name Lehava is an acronym in Hebrew of "Preventing Assimilation in the Holy Land". Lehava has stands at central points in Jerusalem as Zion square promoting their agenda.
