#0202_A_View_From_Haredi_Jerusalem

“Residents of Har-Nof [1] mourn Haredi millionaire.

On the conclusion of the ‘Shiva’ [2] mourning period following the passing of the Haredi businessman Rabbi Moshe Reich [3], hundreds of residents of Har Nof, led by Rabbis and public figures, attended a memorial service in his memory.”

0202 Editor’s Notes:
[1] Har Nof is a neighborhood on the western boundary of Jerusalem that overlooks the Jerusalem forest. Most of its 20,000 residents are Haredi Jews.
[2] Shiva (lit. seven) is the term for the Jewish custom of seven days of mourning.
[3] Rabbi Moshe Reich passed away suddenly last week. He was prominent figure in the Haredi world in general and in especially in the ‘Tzanz’ Hasidic community. He was close with Haredi leaders and was known for his many philanthropic ventures, such as employment services for Haredi women.
