"Galei Tzahal [1] studios will move to the Israel Broadcast Authority’s compound:

Following the decision to move the studios of the Galei Tzahal radio station from Jaffa to Jerusalem, it has now been announced that they will be situated at the former IBA compound on Heleni HaMalka Street in [central] Jerusalem.

This move marks an end to Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s plan, to move the studios to the 'Asirei HaMahtarot' Museum compound [2], a plan which saw public objection fearing damage to the historic building."

0202 Editor's Notes:
[1] Galei Tzahal, known by its acronym Galatz is a nationwide Israeli radio network operated by the Israel Defense Forces.
The station broadcasts news, music, traffic reports and educational programs to the general public as well as entertainment and military news magazines for soldiers. Staff includes both soldiers and civilians.
[2] The 'Asirei HaMahtarot' Museum commemorates the fighters of the Zionist underground movements, which acted as a prototype to the IDF before the State of Israel was founded in 1948. The museum tells the story of the underground rebellion against the British Mandate in Palestine. A public petition against moving the radio station there gathered more than 1000 signatures.
