In Honor of Israel’s 70th, IDF Draft Dodgers Living Abroad May Return Without Threat of Being Arrested.

In honor of Israel’s 70th birthday, the IDF together with the Interior Ministry are giving a free pass to all draft dodgers who reside outside of Israel to come visit the country without having to worry about being arrested or conscripted once they reach Israeli soil.

According to the plan, which was leaked from the IDF and reported by Charedim 10 news site, beginning with the first day of Chol Hamoed Pesach, until the 1st of Sivan, draft dodgers will be allowed to enter and exit Israel once without being arrested upon arrival.

During this time, those who have not sorted out their military service requirements, may get in touch with a conscription office and do so, without risk of imprisonment. According to the plan, which was developed and pushed forward by Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, those arriving in the country, who do not sort out their military service requirements, (either signing up or receiving a proper deferral) will have until the 2nd of Sivan to leave the country.

Anyone who wishes to leave after that time, will be arrested when they attempt to leave.
The plan has not yet been publicized officially, but sources within the IDF state that it is real.
