[1] Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates saving the Jewish people from Haman, who was planning to kill all the Jews. This took place in the ancient Achaemenid Persian Empire. Some of the customs include drinking wine or any other alcoholic beverage, wearing of masks and costumes, and public celebration
[2] The Nachlaot neighborhood in Jerusalem is famous for hosting an annual Purim street party. These celebrations were cut short this year under the direction of the Israel Police.
