"The largest Megilas Esther[1] in the world was displayed near the Kotel last Friday in honor of Purim, giving visitors a chance to read a kosher Megilla on parchment [2]."

0202 Editor's Notes:
[1] Megilas Esther is also known as the Book of Esther and is one of books in the Hebrew Bible. It documents the story of Purim which is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the survival of the Jewish people in ancient Persia when they were threatened by a government sanctioned genocide. The Book of Esther is read aloud in synagogues during the Purim holiday.
[2] In Judaism, holy texts such as Torah scrolls and the Book of Esther must be written on parchment in order to be considered fit for ritual use.
