"The opening of a Zionist place of worship under Al-Aqsa Mosque."
– Jerusalem Center for Research and Education
"The [Palestinian] Ministry of Foreign Affairs decried the excavation work carried out by occupation authorities under the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding area, as well as in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, and especially in what is known as the ‘Antiquities Authority.’ In this case, the announcement came on the same day as an inauguration of a new Jewish synagogue under Al-Buraq Wall [Western Wall]."

Al-Buraq Wall is the common name in Arabic for what is known in English as the 'Western' or 'Wailing' Wall and as the 'Kotel,' in Hebrew. According to Quran, the prophet Muhammad traveled to the site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on his winged steed. According to Islamic tradition, he tied his steed to the wall before rising to heaven.
