"Solidarity Visit in Beit Iksa
On Wednesday morning, January 17th, residents of the Beit Iksa [1]village, discovered that 16 of their cars had been spray painted with racist slogans, their tires had been slashed and their cars vandalized.
We will be visiting Beit Iksa in a show of solidarity with those who were subjected to these acts of racism. We condemn the culprits and hope this expression of unity will transform this event’s memory from one of hate and fear to one of peace and hope.
We will be meeting at 50 Ori Tzvi Grinberg st. in Ramot. From there, we will walk the three minutes to Beit Iksa.
[Summary of event: It was a very moving meeting between the 20 visitors and 50 residents. One resident said, “For 10 years the only Israelis to come here have been soldiers and border police.” The residents were very happy to see the visitors and explained the difficulties they face.]
